I agree with many points in this article. Ariana and everyone else are free to do whatever they want with their bodies. I also agree that it's society's beyond irrational standards for female beauty that drive many stars to do as much as they do.
However, saying "it shouldn't matter" doesn't take into account her legions of youthful fans who compare themselves to Ariana and find themselves lacking. By not disclosing/acknowledging what they've had done, stars make these girls feel "less than", albeit unintentionally.
Yes, the celebrities themselves are victims of society's beauty standards. But also their silence perpetuates the victimhood of others. I'm not blaming them, since they're in an impossible situation. However, I think it's naive to say Ariana's and the Kardashian's complete transformations "don't matter" when they have such massive influence.
